Cancelled show!! What's the deal?

I've just been told by ticketmaster that daytime performance has been cancelled. Why? Ticketmaster don't know the reason. The only thing they're saying to me is that I can rebook another performance. GREAT!! I booked ages ago, and got myself some front row center seats. THANK YOU!!!

So it seems my only option is to get some crappier seats for another performance. Ticketmaster don't even know why the daytime show was cancelled and I don't know if I book the daytime show next week whether the plug will be pulled on that one as well.

All in all,, it's not fair that the evening show goes on and I'm esentially told to get lost. I've lost my good seats with no explaination. Tomorrows plan is out the window. We could have gone wind surfing tomorrow had we known sooner, it's too late now. It's not like Mr. Albarn needs the money from this. If you've sold tickets you should do the show.

If the organisers would like to email me to let me know the deal and to arrange some good seats for my partner and I then they can contact me at my registered email address on here.

I also find it really bad that I seem to be the one making the announcement on here. All in all, I'm very disapointed and let down by this.

    NOT HAPPY.

Well,, I've been trying to find out the reason why it was cancelled. As I only wanted the Matinee performance I want to be sure they won't cancel the next one the night before, for the same reason.

So it generally seems AEG Live are non customer facing. They don't have phone numbers on their website. So I phoned their PR company:-

    'The Outside Organisation' http://www.outside-org.co.uk/index.php?/publicity/clients/client/AEG_Live/uk_tour_2008

Their own PR company don't know the reason why it's been cancelled. They gave me AEG LIVE's number 0207 5362600. When I first called at 10.40am it's recorded message said "I'm sorry all our lines are closed at the moment, please call back during our opening hours, from 8.30am till 6pm.' I called again later and pressed option 2 for the customer services. They don't know the reason why it's been cancelled either and gave me the monkey office phone number 0203 2606404. I phoned this and when someone picked up I asked if I could find out the reason why todays Matinee has been cancelled and the reply was 'I can't tell you that Goodbye'. And I was hung up on!! I called back and the same guy gave me another number which is voicemail 0203 2602111 - Apparently the Service Desk number. Even though it doesn't sound like a voicemail for a service desk I left a message. So I called back the main AEG LIVE number on 0207 5362600 and pressed option 2 again,, this time they've forwarded the call to the 02's customer care line. And having spoke to them this morning, they know nothing!!

Don't these people realise that there may be people travelling to London just to see their show!! At least everyone involved should be armed with a response and a reasurance that it won't happen again,, but there's non of this at all!! Nobody seems to know about it until I mention it. And most often, even then, nobody cares.

    ed,

I can only suspect the reason is that the ticket sales have been poor. I received an email before going last night that offered 2-4-1 tickets for mid week performances. There were lots of free seats last night even with such an offer.

So like you, I waited months to enjoy front row seat only to be disappointed that the stage is far to high for any punters in the front couple of rows to see. Much of the performance takes place in the 2nd and 3rd thirds of the stage. There are about a handful of times any of the actors venture to the front of the stage.

Its dissapointing that having paid £135 for two front row tickets the seats were crap and to add further insult, some of the audience last night paid 1/2 the standard price.

Maybe you are lucky your performance was cancelled because, like most people last night, you would have moved seats for the second half.

It would appear that any attempt to complain is unlikely to be considered important.

The guy I spoke to at the monkey office - 0203 2606404 told me a fake service centre number - 0203 2602111. This shouldn't supprise me really the way things are going. Just to let you know not to phone that one.

For a show that's been getting good reviews it seems a shame that the company running it seem to be full of time wasters. Such a shame the whole thing is a shambles. AEG have now entered my list of crap companies to try and avoid.

PLEASE DO NOT PHONE THE 0203 2606404 IT ISNT ANYTING TO DO WITH AEG.
AEG we're just getting me off the phone by giving me a fake number.

  5. Hi Guys, really sorry if you've been having problems. I've been told that the promoter can be contacted on enquiries@aeglive.co.uk if you have any queries.

I had no luck using that address Mike - it was returned as a Delivery Status Notification failure. Who's going to take responsibility for this shambles?

For the record, here's my experience of 'Monkey's World' last Thursday 20th.

As instructed by Ticketmaster, me and my partner arrived early to partake in the special programme at 'Monkey's World'.

After the routine search for drugs/weapons/high-explosives, we were given rough directions to the Monkey marquee. Apart from a few floor-symbols, there were no other clues as to where the show might actually be, which was a shame because once we'd reached the end of a boulevard there was only a metal barrier to greet us. Squeezing through a gap in this barrier, we followed the symbols only to be met by a fenced-off dead end. Backtracking, we asked a couple of men in hard-hats for directions and they showed us an alternative route.

So we found the marquee but were then baffled as to why its foyer was fenced off. The doors were closed, there were no signs of life, not even any notices to indicate if we were actually at the right entrance. Finally, as we turned back to the 02 we saw a very small notice telling us to arrive half an hour before the show's performance. This was not what we were promised in the first place when invited to join the splendour of 'Monkey's World'. Heading back, we were then told by a man with a sniffer-dog that we shouldn't even be in the area. Charming.

We hung around and killed time and eventually returned to the Marquee near 2 o'clock. Again, no sign of life, no crowds, not even a solitary steward. Fearing the worst, we finally tracked down someone in a portakabin. He helpfully had a look around and eventually came back to tell us that the show had been cancelled.

To say we were surprised and disappointed would be a massive understatement. Nobody had informed us beforehand and there wasn't even ONE POSTER in sight to inform the public that this was the case. No helpful stewards, NOTHING.

This is quite disgustingly inconsiderate practice. I would like someone to explain why we were left in such an inconvenient position and if they could give me any good reason why I should even consider returning to this show, or venue, at any future date?

What would Albarn and Hewlett make of it after all the hype?

Yes I've complained to that email address and had no response. I've think the promoters just want to ignore the mountain of complaints they're getting in their inbox.
