Paper Theatre - Instructions


Setting up The Theatre

Back to the Theatre and Sets download page
  1. Download the Theatre and print it out. - Download
  2. Cut out the front, sides and back of the Theatre. To make the structure more sturdy you can glue the back of the paper to cardboard (for example a cereal box) and cut it out.
  3. To give your front a 3D look cut along the lines shown below in red, score and fold along the green lines shown below.

  5. Once the triangles shown as blue in Fig 1 (see top image on this page) are folded back you can push the 2 edges of the top left and right corners of the theatre together.

    Fig 5, 6 and 7) - Cut, Push edges together.




     

  6. Stick the tabs down in their corresponding locations on each side of theatre.
  7. Fig 8) - Stick side tabs to floor.

    Fig 9) - Stick sides to the back wall.

    Fig 10) - Stick folded corners to the back of the theatre front.



  8. Fold the top bar into a T shape.
  9. Fig 11) - Score and fold tight with a pinch.

    Fig 12) - Stick the tabs to the top of the sides.



  10. Now you have a complete Theatre.

Setting up The Scene -


    Monk-Spin
  1. Download Set 1 and print it out. - Download
  2. Cut around the wings, ground and backdrop.
  3. Slide the ground and backdrop into position.
  4. Slot the front and back wings into place.
  5. Cut around the characters and props and fold the tags back. Then stick the end part of the tab to the back of the character or prop piece.
  6. Place the props and the characters, now you are ready to go and can enjoy playing out your scene!
